I drew SOS in early 2025. I was in the middle of grieving my country, and not yet sure what to do or where to go to be safe. There was such a barrage of policies aimed at not only the LGBTQIA+ community, but at anyone who wasn’t a white, cis, straight, male, that it was overwhelming. I felt hopeless. And scared.

In the middle of all of that grief, I also noted how angry I’d become. I was angry at everyone who voted for Trump, and at anyone who supported MAGA. I’m not someone who is an angry person, and I didn’t like how much I felt I’d changed.

I’m still angry at MAGA, and every person who voted for him, but I feel like I’m on more stable ground than I was when I drew this.

🌈 Hi! I’m Chris. I’m an LGBTQIA+ digital scratchboard artist.

I believe that everybody deserves to feel accepted, not just tolerated. I love nature, and find that it helps me get back to myself. Part of that is drawing animals because they’re a part of nature and ecosystems just like we are.

If you’d like a daily dose of emotional support animals, give me a follow.

When I was drawing the pride cat to add to my Pride animal warriors collection, I drew it standing still. I didn’t like that composition—it felt too static—so I redrew it to the one charging forward, which I like much better.

Which do you prefer?

When They Rip Apart Our Color, How Dull the World Will Be

This is a bit of a darker piece. I drew this in July of 2025, while I was still in the process of grieving what felt like (and still feels like) the loss of my country. I was preparing to move to Canada to live with friends.

I’d wanted to express that feeling of the world turning against us. They want to stomp us out, and rip us up. But diversity is beautiful. Without diversity, the world would be a very dull place.

Rabbits are highly athletic and social. They do a spinning, kicking leap called a binky when they’re happy, and will even chitter their teeth together to purr.

Despite popular belief, carrots are not a good addition to a rabbit’s diet, except as an occasional treat.

And, what could be better during Pride month than dapper rapier wielding rabbit?

We’ve been here since humans first walked the Earth, and we will be here long after we’re all gone.

We are Eternal.

Otters are quite persnickety, with meticulous grooming habits, fussy diets, and strong boundaries. Whether you are a human, dog, or otter, they’ll defend their territories with strong jaws, and sharp claws.

This Pride otter is equally ready to defend our community, with the added bonus of a spear to help.

Happy Pride Month!

I’m a nonbinary digital scratchboard artist.

There’s been a growing hatred toward our community. I’ve fled my former country in the US to live with friends in Canada. I’ve watched and grieved as the US became worse and worse. My former country labeled us terrorists because we exist.

Sometimes I see people complain about the need for a Pride month. They claim we’re already equal. But my former country claims transgender ideology is terrorism. I’m illegal in over 60 countries. I’ve been shoved into a wall because I’m gay. I’ve been told I should be sh0t, I’ve been told I’m not worth the ground holding me up, and things that are even worse. We are not equal, and there’s still a long way to go.

But there are so many people that support us. There may be a loud group that wants to rip us apart, but there is an equally fierce group that would stand up for us.

I have so many family and friends that support me. One of my very best friends is an amazing person and incredible ally to our community. She focuses on CPTSD and healing—something our community really needs right now.

We’re not alone in our fight for equality. This particular piece is titled ā€œ I see the Universe in your Soul.ā€ I meant it as a message of hope in these dark times. We’ve existed for as long as humans have walked the Earth. We’re beautiful. We’re eternal. We’re human. Happy Pride.
