As we look up at the fireworks and celebrate 250 years of freedom, please take a moment to remember the dedicated military members and first responders who are working through the holiday to keep us all safe.

A reprieve from the heat may come Friday and Saturday with a chance for scattered storms. Some of these storms could even be strong to severe with damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
While it doesn't look to be a complete washout for your holiday plans. Remember to stay weather aware and call 9-1-1 for any emergency.

..EXTREME HEAT WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 106.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
