Ultra VP 3.0 Software Update

Several things we became aware of since the release of the 3.0 software...

1) The newer Batman 66 table was removed inadvertently and will be re-added.

2) The 3D stereoscopic functionality is broken in VPX version 10.8 , that's a community-wide issue. Hopefully they will fix that in the next release.

3) The night mode button on the coin door does not automatically work after installation since it needs to be programmed onto the KLZ board . We've created a video that explains how to do this in our support videos repository.

4) The Coin Ops Arcade games work but there are some adjustments that need to be made to enable the second player gamepad to work 100%. Coin Ops locks their configuration files in read only mode and doesn't remember adjustments you make when you reboot. We are creating a special video with in-depth instructions on how to utilize this portion of our build this week and will be posting that this weekend for all new 3.0 owners. It will also go over how to adjust any settings for individual games.

5) Loading screen artifacting and Loading Wheel pixelation will be optimized in our next release. This does not affect gameplay, it's a cosmetic issue.

6) Some of you received a version of our software that wasn't utilizing both the fire and start button for selections, that has been fixed and all new 3.0 SSDs that are shipping. Those of you who need that fix please contact our support team.

PROMISE KEPT
As promised, we are excited to announce the release of the highly awaited Ultra VP 3.0 Software Version (on a 2TB SSD), before the year's end. It features many enhancements over the previous 2.5 version and will definitely inject new life into your Ultra VP Virtual Pinball Machine. Thanks again for being part of the Ultra VP owner's community. We value each one of you and hope you will love this new upgrade. We will be posting Part 2 next week, showcasing some of the new tables and gameplay in this 3.0 release. Today's video focuses on the official release announcement, functionality overview, and distribution details.

DISTRIBUTION
With over 1000 Ultra VP owners worldwide, we have decided to distribute the new release by email invitation only, starting out with those who recently purchased 8.0 units and are owed a copy. We estimate that the distribution will take all of Q1 to clone and dispatch to all of you. So, PLEASE DO NOT CALL or EMAIL us proactively to order this version; calling or emailing will not make it any faster. Instead, we'll reach out to you when it's your turn to order.

FUTURE UPGRADES
Now that we are caught up and have added all the tables and features you requested, it will be much easier to add new tables and music videos, enabling an annual update. Before you ask, sorry, but we do NOT currently offer a monthly update service. We did, however, make a video in the new Menu's "Help Section" that explains the resources available to help you learn how to install new tables on your own.

Thank you all for your patience while the USA-based developers put this 3.0 release together and stabilized it. It wasn't easy and took longer than expected. We very much appreciate their contributions! Also, a very BIG shoutout to the international crew, our custom software developers in Belgium, Kenya, Vietnam, and our graphics expert in Venezuela - this was truly a global effort.

HATERS
As a side note, to all the haters who claim that we are "selling" the software and making money off of it, that is NOT the case. The new software version has been created in conjunction with the Ultra VP owner's community worldwide, hobbyists just like any others who access the VPin forums/download sites, with the same access and rights as any other VPin hobbyist out there.

We are well aware that the virtual pinball community makes these tables and associated software (Visual Pinball Emulator, Pinup Popper, etc.) available for free and frowns upon anyone who earns money from them. We wholeheartedly agree that nobody should profit from VPin software. That is why we are making the Ultra VP software available for free.

The $100 processing fee covers the man-hours needed to clone, package, fulfill, track, and ship your SSD back (shipping costs included).

The $250 software charge, when you order an Ultra VP, covers the 2TB SSD media (currently over $200 on Amazon) and the cloning service.

In other words, we do not profit from community software and tables. We make this available for those who are not software-literate and cannot download and install tables themselves, but enjoy playing virtual pinball.

OTHER SOFTWARE SOURCES
If you do some research online, you will find that you can also source other Ultra VP-compatible software solutions from different vendors, but they charge more and profit from their offering :(
