Sooky Brigance: First Service Bank

Last week, I had the honor of being sworn in as the State Secretary/Treasurer for the Mortgage Bankers Association of Arkansas (MBAA) during the Great River Conference in Memphis.

I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to continue serving an organization and industry that I care deeply about. After previously serving on our local chapter’s executive leadership board, I’m grateful for the opportunity to now transition into a state-level leadership role where I can continue advocating for my industry colleagues, as well as current and future homeowners across Arkansas.

One of the things I appreciate most about this industry is the relationships, collaboration, and shared passion for helping others achieve homeownership and financial stability. Conferences like this are always a great reminder of how many dedicated professionals are working behind the scenes to make that happen every day.

I was also proud to help support the conference’s charitable efforts benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Through raffle ticket fundraising and a last-minute rally of support from attendees — including the generous winner of the $1,000 giveaway donating their winnings back to St. Jude — we were able to help raise over $4,000 for an incredible cause.
