MARS Swimming

The University of Texas at Arlington has made the decision to close its pools. With that, we would like to recognize a very special and final MARS UTA Swimmer of the Month: Mr. Lee Miller from our Masters team, who has faithfully practiced at UTA in the early mornings for many years.
Lee raised three swimmers — Derick, Ty, and Daniel — all of whom competed for MARS and continued their swimming careers at the collegiate level. When his boys finished their high school swimming journeys, Lee dove back into the pool himself, showing up weekday after weekday without fail and without pause. Lee is a familiar face at MARS meets, volunteering countless hours running officiating equipment. His wife, Eva, can also be found poolside, camera in hand, capturing memories for grateful MARS families.
As we close this chapter at UTA, we are deeply grateful for the years we spent there and for every athlete, parent, coach, and volunteer who made those years so meaningful.

MARS will be closed in observance of Memorial Day from Saturday May 23 through Monday, May 25. There will be no lessons or team practices held. 🇺🇸

As most in the swim community know, UTA has decided to close and demolish both the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as the PE Bldg this summer. To commemorate our many years at UTA, we're hosting a "Last Swim" party on Saturday, May 30 from 8-9am. If you are or were a swimmer with MARS (or STAR, TCAT, AIS, etc), you're invited. Here's your last chance to see or swim in the pool many Olympians trained or competed in.
