Unless something drastically changes, it sadly looks like the Enchanted Valley Chalet will be on the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation's Most Endangered Places DEMOLISHED list. Even though it is on the National Registry of Historic Places.
It easily could be moved further back from the shore (our mover Jeff Monroe even still has the steel beams underneath the Chalet from 2014 from the first move of the Chalet).
Even if the shore changes again (nature can be unpredictable so how can we with certainty know what the river will do?) we agree with Rod Farlee of Friends of Olympic National Park that the Chalet should at least be preserved for the next generation.
National Park Service please reconsider the fate of the Chalet and Save the Enchanted Valley Chalet.
