This ice season turned out to be the year of the bass!

I caught more bass this winter than I normally do, which was a fun change of pace. Between chasing bass and walleye, we didn’t land the massive pike we usually see but they’re definitely lurking around.

Late ice we had one absolutely smash a big herring on a quick-strike rig, chewed up a huge chunk, and got away before we could seal the deal. That’s fishing and it always keeps me coming back!

The pike are pregnant and starting to prowl those back channels… which means one thing, spring is right around the corner 🙌🏼 who’s ready?!? I certainly am ready to bust out the boat!
