Today is a big one. It's the last day of school AND our 6th Grade Clap Out! Families are invited to line the hallways from 11:40–11:55 AM and send our 6th Grade Sun Kings off to junior high with all the love and excitement they deserve. Don't forget — dismissal for everyone is at 11:55 AM today. What an incredible year it has been, Playa. We love this community so much!

Our littlest Sun Kings are celebrating today! Happy Kindergarten Celebration to our amazing Kinder class — watching you grow this year has been the sweetest thing. We are so proud of each and every one of you! 💛💜

Mark your calendars! The Playa del Rey Yearbook Signing Party is Tuesday, May 19 from 4–8 PM at Peter Piper Pizza (2122 E. Baseline Rd., Suite D, Mesa). Get those yearbooks signed, enjoy some pizza, and give back to our school — 20% of all food, beverage, and fun pass game credit sales benefit Playa! See you there!

A helpful resource for our Playa families this summer! Gilbert Public Schools is offering FREE meals for kids and teens 18 and under at several locations May 28 through July 17. No sign up required! Locations include Boulder Creek Elementary, Harris Elementary, and Mesquite Junior High. Breakfast and lunch served Monday through Friday. Two big things today, Playa! Our PRIDE Assembly is this morning at 10:00 AM - come cheer on our Sun Kings as we celebrate students living out our school values. Then tonight is our final PTSO Meeting of the year at 5:30 PM. Come connect, celebrate, and help us close out an incredible year!

We are ONE weeks away from the last day of school and we are feeling all the feelings. These final weeks are some of the best. Let's soak them in while we can, Sun Kings.

Field Day is coming up on May 19 and we need YOU! We are looking for volunteers per time slot to help make this day an absolute blast for our students. Please note that for safety reasons we ask that siblings do not attend. In addition, if you have a pop-up tent that we can borrow for the day, we would greatly appreciate it. We are in need of 10 tents to provide shade for students and volunteers.

Here's everything you need to know to set your Sun King up for an amazing day:
👕 Wear a t-shirt and shorts — no swimsuits please! Students will get wet but will dry off quickly in the heat
