We’ve been busy on the road trying some wild new spirits across Europe and thought this one was worth a share… Though not actually a whiskey, this Norwegian herbal liquor, aptly named Valhalla Herb Shot, comes in at a smooth 35% and is heavy with aromatic herbs and bitters. If you’ve had Germany’s famous herbal heavy Jäegermeister, then we highly suggest this smooth, lighter Nordic liquor which is likely to bring out the Viking in you… if you’re lucky enough to find it, we highly recommend!

It’s Friday afternoon and we’re feeling a little grumpy from a long, hard week. Perfect day to sample some Grumpy Goat Distillery, LLC Cafe De Cabra… corn whiskey flavored with coffee. A friend shared this interesting bottle with us during a recent work trip to the east coast. At just 50 proof, we should be able to sip on this through the next few Zoom calls without anyone noticing… Cheers to Friday!

It’s F-Rye-Day night and time for something a little different… This Redwood Empire Whiskey Emerald Giant Rye out of Northern California hits the ticket. Named after the 350 feet tall redwood giants of Redwood National Park, this subtle rye, aged at least 4 years, has a mash bill of 95% premium rye and is distilled to a smooth 90 proof. This double gold award winning blend has hints of brown sugar and pepper, really nice neat or on the rocks. At a very affordable $35 per bottle, we highly recommend if you’re looking for something new and a little different (all California politics aside!).
