This birthday feels different for me.

Over the past couple of years, I stepped away from everything I was involved in. It wasn’t always understood, but it was about obedience.

I felt a clear pull in my spirit to be still, go inward, and follow that guidance. It became a season to reflect, heal, regroup, and recenter—while also navigating school, life transitions, menopause, and my health.

Every time I tried to move forward, it felt like God would pause it and say, “not now.” At first I didn’t understand it, but I now see it wasn’t rejection—it was redirection.

So I listened. I focused. And I trusted the process.

And I’m grateful I did.

The lessons have been profound—shaping me in ways I can’t fully explain, but deeply feel. This season prepared me for my assignments and who I am becoming.

Now, I’m on the other side of it. I’ve grown, been stretched, and rebuilt.

At 54, I’m stepping into a new version of myself—with clarity, peace, and alignment.

Today, also holds a tender space in my heart. I miss my mom deeply. I can still hear her saying, “Are you up? Happy Birthday, Yvonne…” I even dreamed of her last night for the first time since she passed, and I’m holding that close.

And if I can leave you with anything, it’s this: we don’t choose every card life deals us, but we do choose what we do with them. We can learn, process, grow, and allow even the hardest seasons to shape us—not break us.

This isn’t just a birthday.

It’s a becoming.

What God CALLED you to, He will see it through. Walk by faith not sight. Nelson Mandela said, "It always seems impossible, UNTIL it's done." Be encouraged. Go get it! You were MADE for this. 💪🏾💖💫
