I don’t like the phrase “high school games”, when referring to some of the behavioural patterns of narcissists.
Not only does it minimise their behaviour, and infantise them as merely being immature, it glosses over the fact that high school is the time that these traits become cemented into them as their personality disorder.
Their manipulation, destruction, jealousy, and rage, shouldn’t be excused. Yet it often is by those they’ve deemed useful enough to pretend to befriend.
These people often use these “high school games” to rise to power, leaving a steady stream of victims in their wake.
I hate seeing those I care about get abused by these monsters in human flesh, while they themselves are fawned over. It’s sick.
