News out of Lake Jackson about employee Ryan Smith from City of Lake Jackson Parks & Rec Director Jennifer Jones...

"I want to take a few seconds to Wish a HUGE GOOD LUCK to our Parks and Recreation employee RYAN SMITH. Tonight he leaves for Florida to go on an 860 mile bike ride for Charity. Ryan has been training really hard but the cycling journey, all 860 miles, isn’t the only thing he’ll be doing on his ride. The Ride, Push America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves people with disabilities. It is a national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, which he is a member of at the University of Houston, with the purpose of instilling lifelong service in its members and enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities. Along his ride, each day he will stop and visit and network with local charities, fulfilling donations at EVERY stop. Ryan and his team, Men from all over the United States, have worked hard to raise money for this ride, will ALL the proceeds being donated along their route to the local charities that they stop and meet with.

Myself as well as our department are all very proud of Ryan for his hard work and dedication to such an amazing cause. His dedication to working with people with disabilities has been instrumental in our department piloting inclusive services and Paralympic programming here at the Rec Center.

Ryan will be riding for two weeks, completing the 860 mile journey! Please take a few minutes to wish him luck!!"

10 & U, 12 & U, 14 & U, 16 & U, 18 & U
Adults: Men’s & Women’s Singles & Doubles
3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 & Open
Specials: Junior Mixed Doubles
14 & U, 16 & U, 18 & U
Adult: Combined Mixed Doubles
6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, 9.5+

Awards:
1st, 2nd and 3rd place juniors will receive medals and will qualify
for the TAAF Games in Corpus Christi, TX on July 25-28, 2013

In order to participate all players must have a completed entry form, a TAAF I.D. #, a copy of his/her
birth certificate and all fees paid. There must be at least 4 entries per event to make a draw. Players
may not enter more than 2 events. Juniors may enter both Singles & Doubles events.
