Our quirky little chicken, affectionately named Turkey Lurkey, has quite the backstory! A family friend stumbled upon her while she was scampering down a country road in Corsicana, Texas, and thought she might need rescuing. When we first brought her home, she was so tiny that we initially suspected she might be a wild turkey, as it seemed unlikely for a baby chicken to be out on its own in the middle of nowhere. We even reached out to wildlife experts to get their take on her, but they were just as puzzled by her size. Fast forward to today, and Turkey Lurkey has blossomed into a beautiful chicken, perfectly at home among our lively farmstead, where she fits right in with all the delightful chaos! 😅

Thank you, Bryce!! He helped me set up some fancy little solar lights around my ancient little barn. lol Now, I can actually see at night instead of playing a risky game of “Guess What That Shadow Is?” in the dark.😄💀🥴
