All Inclusive 8 Day Kilimanjaro Trek
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation at Under the Shade Safari Lodge (HB), where your guide will meet you for a full briefing
Day 1: LEMOSHO GATE (2,100M/6,890FT) TO MTI MKUBWA (2,650M/8,694FT)
Day 2: Big Tree Camp (2,650m/8,694ft) to Shira 1 Camp (3,610m/11,843ft)
Day 3: Shira II Camp (3,610m/11,843ft) to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m/12,631ft)
Day 4: Shira 2 Camp (3,850m/12,631ft) to Barranco Camp (3,900m/12,800ft)
Day 5: Barranco Camp (3,900m/12,800ft) to Karanga Camp (3,995m/13,107ft)
Day 6: Karanga Camp (3,950m/12,960ft) to Barafu Camp (4,600m/15,092ft)
Day 7: Barafu Camp (4,600m/15,092ft) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) then descending to Mweka Camp (3,100m/10,171ft)
Day 8: Mweka Camp (3,100m/10,171ft) to Mweka Gate (1,640m/5,380ft)
What's Included in the Cost:
-All Kilimanjaro National Park Entrance fees, Camping/Hut fees, Rescue fees and Crew fees
Park fees for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro are set by the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) and apply to all climbers. Here’s a breakdown of typical fees: (2026 additional $70 per climber have been added by the government)
1. Conservation Fee or Entrance Fee: Approximately $70 per day
• charged for each day you’re on the mountain to support conservation efforts.
2. Camping Fees: Around $50 per night (for camping routes)
• paid for each night spent on the mountain. For hut routes like Marangu, the fee is similar but covers hut accommodations instead.
3. Rescue Fee: About $20 per climb
• overs emergency rescue services on the mountain.
4. Crater Camping Fee: Around $100 per night
• Additional fee if you camp in the crater near the summit (not common, but some advanced climbers opt for this experience).
5. Crew Fees: Fees for guides, porters, and cooks are also included in the overall cost, as they are required by law for all climbs
Here’s another example of typical crew numbers for a Kilimanjaro climb, based on group size:
I. Solo Climber:
• 1 Lead Guide
• 3-5 Porters (to carry equipment, food, and personal items)
• 1 Cook
Total Crew: 6-8
II. Small Group (2-4 Climbers):
• 1 Lead Guides
• 1 Assistant Guides
• 8-12 Porters
• 1Cooks
Total Crew: 12-18
III. Larger Group (5-10 Climbers):
• 1-2 Lead Guides
• 3 Assistant Guides
• 15-25 Porters
• 2-3 Cooks
Total Crew: 22-34
Generally, each climber requires around 4-5 support crew members to ensure everything is carried
safely and efficiently, and the group is well-supported at altitude.
- Accommodation at the hotel before and after climbing (1 night before for your climb starts and 1 night after your climb, in our Standard Hotel, which is a bed and breakfast)
- Food and water for the entire trek; This is another essential item. You need to know exactly how many meals per day you get. Normally your crew will serve you three main meals per day plus a snack (Breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as hot drinks on the mountain), You will find that your crew will serve will these to you upon arrival at camp.
- Qualified mountain guide, assistant guides, porters and cook
- Salaries paid to the mountain support crew as per KINAPA (Kilimanjaro National Park Authority) guidelines.
- Airport Transfers; Transfers from Kilimanjaro Airport to your hotel and return. Each member of your party is required to arrive and depart at the same time.
- Transport to and from the park at the beginning and end of the trek.
- Superior quality camping equipment (tents, sleeping mats, camp chairs, camp tables, mess tent) – sleeping mattress (not applicable on the Marangu route) as all meals are served at the camps in designated dining halls
- Porter to carry your duffel bag, with maximum weight of 20kg /44 lbs., from one camp to the next camp
- Kilimanjaro National Park certificate for your successful summit attempt
NOTE: All payments are fully refundable 60 days prior to the trip start date. 2/3rd refund 45 days prior to the trip start date. 1/3 refund 30 days prior to the trip start. None if cancellation is made less than 30 days prior.

Hello all, this Saturday morning some of us are Kayaking and paddleboarding in DC Mall area. Checking out the monuments from water. We will be launching from the Wharf launch area (its free to launch from there ) if you like to join, let me know. Bring Your Own board or Kayak or if you need one from me do let me know . I have 10 Kayak and 18 paddleboards left. We will get in water at 8 AM and out by 12PM. And will have lunch at a hole in the wall burrito place from my Pentagon days. :)
