Honoring the heroes of 9/11.

It has always been a day of sadness for me. I remember waking up in the morning and turning on the TV and the news came on every channel. Seeing the World Trade Center smoking from being hit. I thought I was watching a preview for a new Die Hard movie. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I got really scared because my father's office was not too far from the World Trade Center. He was about a block away. His office window overlooked the buildings. Then when the building fell my stomach sank. I never felt such a sense of worry before. I was 20 years old at the time. I had so many friends whose father's worked in the buildings. I thought my father was dead. There was no word from him for 3 days. Writing this post is even making me relive the memory and in turn experiencing the feelings all over again. I'm a NYer and proud of it. Regardless of what the Government is doing to my home state I know what it means to be a true NYer and we stand for this country and what it was built on. We support our emergency responders with great admiration and our constitution is on our blood. God bless the United States of America.
