You ever think about that moment when you sit and it feels like the day releases you from its grip? When the light seems to shift from the blues and the yellows start to show? This is that. It’s like you’re present but you’re juuust a little bit somewhere else.

What an amazing body of work by
This is a prime example of why I love figurative art so much.
Today’s the last day of the show and I’m so glad I FINALLY got here.

Progress…

I’m a figurative artist. I’ve never really been interested in painting anything other than people. And if we’ve discussed my work, or life for that matter, for more than five minutes, you’re aware that labels don’t matter to me. I know I paint mostly female figures but I’ve always seen gender and race as trivial elements in my work. I’m more interested in keeping things ambiguous and these cloaked figures are a way I’ve found to do that—and honestly, I’m loving it so I’m gonna keep trucking until I feel it’s time to move on.
