Great read giving insight about those pesky muscle knots / trigger points that like to pop up and cause HAVOC. ๐ Working with clients, I tend to find these always between the Shoulder blades / Mid-Back, or upper Trap / Shoulders.

Therapy session on one of our front office workers. Did some work on her Knee that was bothering her, then took care of some left Low Back pain she was feeling from the issues revolving around her right Knee that was messing with her walking gait.

How's your Lumbar Spine? ๐ค
Here's a great quick video breakdown on Lower crossed syndrome (LCS) is a postural imbalance characterized by an anterior pelvic tilt, increased lumbar lordosis (curvature of the lower back), and muscle tightness and weakness in specific muscle groups.
๐ธ๏ธCauses:
Prolonged sitting, Sedentary lifestyle, Weak abdominal and gluteal muscles, tight hip flexors, and erector spinae muscles.
๐ธ๏ธSymptoms:
Anterior pelvic tilt
Increased lumbar lordosis
Lower back pain
Hip pain
Tightness in the hip flexors, hamstrings, and lower back muscles
Weakness in the abdominal and gluteal muscles
๐ธ๏ธDiagnosis:
Physical examination to assess posture, muscle tone, and range of motion
Functional movement assessment
X-rays may be used to rule out structural abnormalities
๐ธ๏ธTreatment:
Core strengthening exercises (e.g., planks, bird dog, squats)
Hip flexor stretching exercises (e.g., knee-to-chest stretch, pigeon pose)
Gluteal strengthening exercises (e.g., glute bridges, hip thrusts)
Pelvic tilt exercises
Ergonomic modifications (e.g., adjustable desk, standing desk)

With proper treatment and lifestyle changes, LCS can be effectively managed, and symptoms can improve significantly. However, if left untreated, LCS can lead to chronic pain, postural deformities, and other musculoskeletal problems.
Additional Notes:
LCS is a common condition, particularly among people who spend long periods sitting.
It is important to consult a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.
Home exercises can be helpful, but it is essential to perform them correctly to avoid further injury.

How's your Protein intake for Fuel, Repair & Growth? This is a conversation I bring up with a lot of my clients and patients as I find the vast majority of them are all well under their daily protein intake. When I speak on this subject they all look shocked and automatically feel as if they'll be over-eating. But that's definitely not the case once you're locked into what your body needs, as well as staying on top of your strength training routine.

My 78 year old patient jumped off the table with zero sciatic pain and gave me a High Five ๐ on the way to the front to schedule his next appointment.
We're still working to repair some soft tissue damage he's been dealing with in his Glutes and Hamstrings. One session at a time, but he's making great progress. I'm happy to see him moving with pep in his step. ๐ถโโ๏ธ
