..STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN FLORENCE...
DARLINGTON AND MARLBORO COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM EDT...
At 500 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Clyde, or 9 miles west of Hartsville, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Scattered thunderstorms will develop to the northwest of the P*e Dee and the move southeast. Some storms could become locally strong or severe, with damaging winds being the main threat, as they arrive in the area. The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted parts of the P*e Dee, including Florence, Darlington, Hartsville, Dillon, Bennettsville, and Marion, with a "Slight Risk" (Level 2) for possible scattered severe storms. Be aware of thunderstorms developing in your area later today!

The building heat will continue this weekend in Florence and the P*e Dee region. Most of Saturday should be rainfree with daytime highs the mid 90s. Scattered storms will develop on Sunday with highs in the mid 90s, once again. Where those storms develop, they'll knock the heat down for a bit. Due to the high moisture content, it'll feel nasty ! Heat index values will range between 99 and 107. Get some ice cream and find a pool!
The latest long-range models show we may see several days later next week top 100 degrees on the thermometer.

FLORENCE & THE P*E DEE:
Big time heat is on the way for the next several days. In fact, the high heat will likely continue into next week and toward the Fourth of July holiday.
Friday will feature a mixture of sun and clouds. The latest Convective-Allowing Models indicate scattered showers and storms will develop, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours, across the P*e Dee.
Daytime highs will top out around 93 degrees.

Most locations will be dry Thursday. Expect mainly sunny to partly cloudy skies with afternoon highs between 91 and 94 degrees.
