Caracole is a nonprofit AIDS service organization that is located in Cincinnati. Their mission is to “positively change lives in the fight against HIV/AIDS through prevention, housing and care.” They offer many different services including prevention education, and case management and housing assistance for people who are living with HIV. Starting today, the PIER Recovery Community Center is open at their new 336 West 9th Street location in Newport! They are no longer at 1002 Monmouth Street.
The PIER Recovery Community Center provides a number of services which positively impact the lives of those in need. These services include substance use and mental health peer support, housing assistance, re-entry services, LGBTQ+ support, and employment readiness assistance. If you are in Northen Kentucky and are looking to get tested for HIV and other transmittable disease, the NKY Health Department provides these services at their four health clinics and at community events throughout the region. The Health Department’s HIV Prevention & Testing program seeks to prevent infection, test individuals, and link individuals to care and services. Learn more about this program at the link below.

Did you know that UK HealthCare offers Hepatitis C treatment in local health departments? In Northen KY, you can get treatment at the Pendleton County Health Department and the Bracken County Health Department. This program uses telehealth services to connect you to providers at UK HealthCare for fast, quality treatment. All insurances are accepted including Medicare and Medicaid. Medications are shipped straight to your door or for pick up at the health department. Treatment has never been so easy!
