Life update (again)
This one is bittersweet to post about because it feels like one of those breakups where the only thing wrong with the relationship was timing (and in this case also covid).
I’ve resigned from my position in public education. After taking a step back I had to reevaluate a few things and I’ve come to recognize my why in my career and my why in life are no longer the same after becoming a mom and to be fully transparent in addition to postpartum anxiety I had a lot of anxiety about returning to education right now during a pandemic.
Now I wish leaving meant I get to be a stay at home mom but I’ll still be social working just in a different capacity that allows me to be more present with my little guy. There’s a lot of grief with this decision but I know right now it’s the best decision for my family, after all I’m the only one who can give my little guy a happy mom.
I’m thankful for this community and all of you who are still giving me opportunities to create as I make this transition.
The way I show up in this space will look different, maybe quieter, but I promise if we’re working on a project together I’ll show up for you as loud as I can (with a cute lil baby on my hip). I’ll be updating my highlights soon to reflect services soon so stay tuned 😘

Remember when I said I was working on my greatest creation ever?!

Before I get to that part, November always has me in my feels so here’s a bit of my 2021 reflection. January-March I started this year out hitting sales goals I typically would see over the span of a year within a month, achieved social media grows that put me way out of my comfort zone, and most importantly found so much community in clients and fellow creators.
I’m a big believer of being able to pursue not just one thing but all the things in life that bring you joy. Because of so, I have balanced this “side hustle” on top of my full time career as a social worker and in addition to my many other cool roles I have in life- like being an aunt, partner, sister, friend, daughter, and so on.
Late March, I found out that I would be able to add “mom” to the list of roles I get to take on in life. That’s right-my greatest creation is that I’m creating a little tiny human! I’m so grateful I get to be the home of the little person that’s half of me and half the person I love the most. ☺️
As excited as I was to find out I quickly had to redefine what balance looked like in my life and that meant taking a step back from this piece of my life, not completely, but just enough so that I didn’t feel like I was coming up short in other areas of my life, and that was hard (and so are pregnancy symptoms). I knew as I took this step back the algorithm trends, business transactions, and opportunities wouldn’t wait for me. Despite that fear I took on less and this past October I officially closed my order books for the year instead of preparing for holiday pre-orders.
My house may not be filled with invoices, paint, and craft scraps the rest of 2021 but I’m excited for an occupied crib and baby toys to be laying around the floor this holiday season instead.
All this to say-Thank you for following along and sticking around this season of life with me even if I moved slower. May the rest of 2021 be filled with so much joy. I can’t wait to create with you in 2022.
