If we really believe in representative democracy, and the value of a person’s labor, we must consider what we are asking of our elected officials at the local and state level and what we are willing to pay for it. The current system of public service values wealthy, older, non-parenting, retirees. That doesn’t sound like equity & inclusion to us.
