The biggest mistakes bridal MUAs make in their inquiry process and how to fix them.

Mistake 1: You’re using email or DM to book.

You have an Instagram highlight with all the information a bride needs to inquire with you. But here’s what that actually looks like on her end - she has to find your email or hope your DMs are open so her message actually reaches your inbox. Then she has to dig through your highlights and make sure every single piece of information you’re asking for is included, and she’s probably missing half of it. And if she’s emailing you? She’s hoping and praying it doesn’t go to spam.

That is so much work before she’s even heard back from you. Your inquiry process should be easy. If it’s not easy, she’s moving on to someone who’s is.

Mistake 2: Your prices aren’t listed anywhere.

Be transparent. Be upfront. When brides can’t find your prices, they either assume you’re out of budget and don’t reach out - or they inquire and then ask for a discount when they find out. That’s how you end up hearing “you’re too expensive.”

If you have a great client experience and you’re talented at what you do, charge your worth sis. You won’t be “too much” for the right clients. The right brides aren’t shopping for the cheapest artist - they’re shopping for the one they trust most. Make sure your prices are on your website, your Instagram, and your inquiry form. No exceptions.

Mistake 3: You don’t have a proper inquiry form.
