Stayed up too late and woke up with a sore throat. Here’s my soothing tea to help that!

I stayed up too late last night, watching the World Series game 3. (I only made it to the top of the 14th inning, which was midnight my time.) Whenever I stay up too late, I end up with a sore throat. Turns out, that’s fairly common. Here’s the tea I made this morning to soothe my throat and boost my immune system. 1/2 teaspoon of each: marshmallow root, ginger, hibiscus, and rose hips. Steep in two cups of hot (not boiling) water. Marshmallow root helps coat and soothe a sore throat. Ginger eases inflammation and adds warmth. Hibiscus and rose hips bring vitamin C and a little tartness that supports recovery and keeps you hydrated. I sweeten the tea with my Aronia berry syrup, for antioxidants, more vitamin C, and the immune boost from the honey in the syrup.
