Guns are not inherently "bad." They are tools to perform a task, like a hammer or a hard hat. Violent crimes are done by criminals, not the guns. Individuals who are intent on inflicting violence will find a way to do harm, in spite of poor (or the "best") legislation. We are going to see more and more laws which may not necessarily curb the violence done by criminals. What we will see are things like mandatory wait times for law abiding citizens making attempts to protect themselves from domestic abusers, black markets being created from limits put on ammunition which is already difficult to procure, and states compelling citizens to give up their means of protection without grandfather clauses.
