National Center on Sexual Exploitation has been advocating for survivors, and this is not the only victory from the previous year!

Congress passed the TAKE IT DOWN Act, finally making it a federal crime ot upload s*xual images of someone without their consent. Their Twitter lawsuit overcame Section 230 immunity was allowed to proceed, making it the first federal lawsuit in history to proceed against a social media company for its failure to report child s*xual abuse materials.

With the Senate’s passage of the Trafficking Survivors Relief Act, survivors of human trafficking will no longer be punished for crimes they were forced to commit—opening doors to justice, healing, and opportunity.
