Lilacs are blooming, spring rain is falling, the sun is back...and that means it's time for morels!!! :) Another reason to leave leaf litter alone is to encourage natural decay and help insulate spring growth...so that we can all benefit from the incredible local spring harvest :)

One of the most fun things I've gotten to do this spring is take pictures of these amazing shirts for Herb & Honey Bakery's fundraiser for U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) ! The fundraiser is over (shirt pick up begins on April 30 for those who ordered!) so I may or may not just be reposting this to show off my incredibly patient senior dog's blossoming career as a shirt model. Old dogs can't always learn new tricks, but this one CAN wear a new shirt!

Last night I saw the most beautiful sunset I've EVER seen from W Bayfront...AND THERE WAS ALSO A RACCOON! 🦝🌅 It was such a wonderful experience to appreciate our city's natural beauty on Earth Day with my neighbors.

If you love spring flowers as much as I do (and I know you do!!!) there's something really easy you can do to help make sure we can keep enjoying them every year!!! What's the secret??? What do you have to do? (Drumroll please) ...NOTHING! :) By leaving your laws alone and letting the ecosystem wake up naturally, you let pollinators and perennials survive and thrive from spring to summer! And getting to feel good about procrastinating yard-work? PRICELESS! What better way to celebrate Earth Day? 🌎🌸🐝

Took some pictures from my dog's POV on our walk today! I can't tell if the squirrels are teasing her or judging her but it's nice to see springtime bring out the zoomies in our local wildlife!
