Here’s what nobody tells you about “pull your core in.”

A lot of women are holding their belly in most of the day and do not even realize it. It can start as posture, a fitness cue, or just wanting to feel more supported, but when that gripping becomes constant, it can affect a lot more than your abs.

I see this pattern all the time with pelvic tension.

When your abdomen stays braced, your rib cage often stops moving well, your breathing gets more shallow, and your pelvic floor can stay in a guarded, overworking pattern too. That can show up as bladder urgency, constipation, bloating, heaviness, discomfort with intimacy, or a general feeling that you can never fully relax your body.

The goal is not to stop using your core. The goal is to stop gripping all day when your body does not need it.

One simple thing to notice today: can you let your belly soften when you inhale, or does it stay pulled in no matter what?

S*x is meant to be comfortable, connected, and enjoyable. If it has been painful or consistently uncomfortable, you deserve answers that go beyond “just relax” or “it’s normal.”

One topic that is often skipped is cl*toral hood mobility and how that tissue moves and feels over time. If the area is irritated, restricted, or sensitive, it can contribute to discomfort with intimacy, touch, or even certain clothing.

This is not a self-diagnosis post. It is simply awareness that pelvic health is nuanced and there are real, treatable reasons why intimacy may feel different than you want it to.
