The 4 th of July Rodeo weekend was kind to some and others created the desire to go home regroup and get ready for this weekend.
Jace Angus placed 4 th in Sedro Woolley, Washington.
Rylan Cherry was an 80 in Buffalo, Texas but came up short to travel to the pay window
Hilary LoBue made some terrific runs, but barrel horses are running into the thousands! Lots of tough competition. But she will be back in the money in no time.
Cimarron Rucker was not having a good 4 th either until he stuck it on one in Eugene, Oregon for $11,000.00! Chaching!! 😳😳😳way to bring it home Cimarron! Glad it worked out for you!
I have to mention a cowboy by the name of Angel Garcia! This young man has been hitting the dirt HARD at several ranch bronc rodeos that I have been too. It finally came together for him Sunday. He won the 4 th of July celebration that took place in Giddings, Texas. So very happy for this cowboy! His TRY is unstoppable!
Buckin Good Bits: Did you read my last post?? Are you practicing being a big fish?? I sure hope so!!! Life is good and only going to get better. “My life was changed when I stepped into the water, ain’t seen the chains since I gave them to the Father!!” Lyrics from Jaime McDonald. This world cannot hold what God has planned for you! The devil may try but God always keeps his word!!! Keep on keepin on!
Have a Buckin Great week!

Color Me For A Cause: Rodeo's Way to Paint a Brighter World
𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐨𝐬.
In late fall 2025, an unusual sight popped up on the social media accounts of various rodeo athletes—coloring book images of their action shots decorated by children and adults alike.
The images from “Color Me Rodeo,” and the accompanying “Color Me Cowgirl” and “Color Me Cowboy,” are serving a greater purpose beyond that of an enjoyable pastime for all ages. A portion of each book goes to raise awareness and support the fight against human trafficking.
The coloring books are a passion project for Betsy Weinberg, a realtor, a barrel racer and mother of three young girls with husband Seth.
While Weinberg knew that darkness lurked within the world, a viewing of the highly acclaimed movie Sound of Freedom that shined a spotlight on the horrors of human trafficking hit her on a visceral level.
“I don’t live in fear,” she said, “but if someone said, ‘Betsy, what’s your worst nightmare?’ I would very genuinely say my kids being taken from me and not being able to find them. I can’t even fathom. So when we went to see that movie, I’m like, ‘There’s got to be something that we can do.’ I can’t go down the Amazon River and save people, but what can we do?”

Good morning Buckers!! It’s Thursday and the Rodeo weekend is upon us. You can start out in Buffalo, Texas to watch the slack. No charge to get in and a bunch of top competitors are entered up. Then make the short trip to Wimberly Texas on Friday night to get more of the fabulous action packed rodeo. Finally, you can end up in Leakey, Texas for fabulous experience. Start out the a wonderful patriotic parade Saturday morning, then go float the Frio River to cool off, attend a fabulous rodeo that evening and to top it off an “old time” street dance in the heart of Leakey, Texas. Wow! Come on out for a great time!
Just a note, they will have mutton bustin and calf scrambles for the kiddos and fireworks as well after the rodeos. What a great time to celebrate America turning 250 years old.
Buckin Good Bits: I wanted to share a story I heard today about a certain kind of FISH. Did you know this type of fish, if you put them in a small bowl, they only grow as large as the limits of the bowl??? But if you put it in a big aquarium, it will grow to its full potential.
Are you like that fish in a small bowl? Are you surrounding yourself with people who only want to be in a small bowl? If so,, change it! You are NOT a Fish! lol! You have the ability to change it. Yes it may be hard, but anything worth having is. So go for it. Break away and soar! God has given you dreams in your heart, he will give you avenues to fulfill those dreams. Don’t let negative nellie’s pull you down. If God is for you… you have already won!
Till next time. Stay safe this weekend. We will be open For Taco Tuesday 4:30pm until 8:00pm. Have a Buckin Good 4 th of July! Be a BIG Fish! 😜😜
