This Saturday, El Paso proudly stands behind one of our own.

Stephanie Han is more than an incredible fighter. She is a proud mom, an El Paso Police Department officer, a champion, and a true example of strength, discipline, and heart.

Every time she steps into the ring, she represents El Paso with pride and reminds young girls, working moms, and our entire community that anything is possible through hard work and determination. She is helping put El Paso on the map in such a positive and inspiring way, and our city could not be more proud to call her one of our own.

Now it’s our turn to show up for her. Let’s come together as a community, pack the arena, and make sure Stephanie feels the full support of the city she proudly represents.

Good luck this Saturday, Stephanie. El Paso is in your corner.

Honored to serve as the keynote speaker for the Canutillo High School Class of 2026 graduation.

Tonight, we celebrated 325 graduates and a class that earned more than $47 million in scholarships. This incredible group included 115 students who earned professional certifications or licenses before graduating, 98 students who took AP exams, and two students who earned nominations to military service academies.

From state championship athletes to student leaders making an impact across Texas, this class showed what hard work, resilience, and determination look like.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. Your future is bright, and our community is proud of you.

The City of El Paso Data Center Policy Framework draft has officially been released following months of community meetings, research, and public input.

More than 800 community members participated throughout this process, sharing concerns about water, infrastructure, energy demand, environmental impacts, and the long term future of El Paso.

This draft framework includes recommendations focused on stronger safeguards, greater transparency, stronger oversight, and clearer accountability for future hyperscale data center development.

City Council has also adopted policy direction stating that the City should not actively recruit or incentivize future hyperscale data centers moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up, and stayed engaged throughout this process. Your voice helped shape this conversation every step of the way.

El Paso families come first. Always.

PROTECTING EL PASO’S FUTURE

I’ve heard the concerns from people across our community, and I want to be clear: protecting El Paso families, our water, our natural resources, and our future comes first.

People have raised real concerns about water usage, energy demand, infrastructure, and sustainability. Those concerns matter, and they will be taken seriously.

That is why City Council directed the City Manager to begin developing a comprehensive Data Center Policy Framework focused on stronger safeguards, transparency, and community input moving forward.

My priority is making sure we make responsible decisions that protect our community today and for future generations.

I was able to make a small salary donation, but more importantly, I wanted to share information about this incredible camp and organization that supports individuals with disabilities in our community.

Camp Ability 2026, organized by Partners Resource Network and the PEN Project, helps young people with disabilities build confidence, leadership skills, independence, and meaningful connections. Programs like this create opportunities that can truly change lives for both participants and their families.

I encourage El Pasoans to support this effort however they can, whether through volunteering, donations, sponsorships, or simply helping spread the word.

As summer begins and families prepare for camps, travel, and the new school year, the City of El Paso Department of Public Health is encouraging parents and guardians to make sure their children are up to date on routine vaccines.

Vaccines help protect children, families, and our community from serious illnesses like measles, polio, meningitis, whooping cough, and more.

Free and low-cost vaccines are available for eligible children ages 0–18 at City community clinics across El Paso.

To schedule an appointment, call (915) 212-0200. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Learn more about clinic locations and the Vax to School Tour ’26 at http://EPHealth.com or call 2-1-1.
