These LA guys! Daniel Savage (L) (who I’ve known since signing to Atlantic in the 90’s) and new to Incantio music supervisor, John Anderson. (John signed the Cramps back in the day..) A great, short trip with a ton of meetings, potential new partner, and more independent catalogs coming in. Go, go, go :)

Verso fest in Westport Connecticut was a lively conversation on in music, which has become a perennial topic in music and tech. This was a bit different for me, because it was a direct and sometimes opposing conversation on ai in music creation. For the record, I do have personal and strong negative feelings about “assisted songwriting” especially where machines are involved. I know that I likely fall into the ANALOG category, but if you can’t copyright the end result, well, that little digital blip might be telling you something…… To be continued, until we can find a solution where the artists isn’t the last one getting paid. Interesting and lively discussion with Daniel Rowland, VP at Landr, me, Paul Sinclair of Suno, and Sam Hendel of the Chord Music Group. Dick Wingate moderated.

From Chicago’s South Side to studios in Japan, Ish-iLLa Music is the definition of resilience.

His sound is a raw, soulful reflection of his journey—turning inner-city struggles into a powerful, multi-genre gift for music. As a self-taught songwriter, producer, and the force behind CHi-TUNE STUDIOS, IsH-iLLa Music infuses his work with an authenticity that feels like the missing piece in today’s landscape.

We highly recommend the track “Fine To Be Single” for projects requiring an authentic, modern vibe.
