We all meet so many people around us with varying backgrounds. Everyone tailors their own experiences to tell their own stories. But as we progressed through life and through college, we’ve come to realize a component in the stories of many: the presence of mental health. Mental health is a serious issue plaguing people of all ages and holds a negative stigma in contemporary society. Many institutions, organizations, and universities instill programs to help others build their mental health; however, not everyone has access to such programs and many in these situations wonder if there will ever be a cure for this overbearing presence in their lives. A brother from our chapter and a brother from the University of Michigan have decided to take initiative to dedicate this past week in collecting donations towards this cause. All donations are done through the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, which are finding medical and scientific breakthroughs in mental health and slowly getting towards a cure. The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation funds research projects that work to help prevent and find treatments for various mental illnesses. Your donations, no matter how insignificant they may seem, have the ability to potentially save a life down the line. The cause has already raised over $4000 already and we want to keep it going!
