It’s so easy to get caught up in the number on the scale… but real talk?
That number will never tell the full story. 🫶
It won’t show the extra energy you have to play with your kids.
It won’t show the confidence you’re building every time you show up for yourself.
It won’t show the way you’re learning to trust your body again. ✨
If weight loss is part of your journey, that’s okay.
If healing your relationship with food and fitness is the priority, that’s okay too.
Your health is about so much more than a number. 🤍 Keep showing up, for you.

Loss—and motherhood—have completely changed my “why” for pursuing healthy habits. It’s no longer about aesthetics. It’s about so much more.
In the last 6 months, I’ve lost my brother, my uncle, my grandmother, and my grandfather.
Instead of just sitting in the overwhelming negative, I guess I’ve learned two big things ⬇️
1. Nothing matters more than being present with the ones you love.
2. Your health is everything—even when you “do everything right.”
I’ve spent the last decade working to shift my mindset away from eating and moving just to look a certain way. I’m grateful to have done that work before experiencing these last 6 months.
Because this kind of loss? It cemented that shift even deeper.
🚶My grandfather walked 3 miles every day into his 90s.
🚤 My grandmother water-skied on her 80th birthday.
On the other hand though…My brother had no health issues. He ate well, worked out, took care of himself. But he left us at 43.
So did I have a moment where I asked, “What’s the point, then?”
Absolutely. It felt (and still does) SO unfair.
But I also knew—deep down—that when you’re going through grief, stress, overwhelm, or heartache…
caring for your health is the only way through it.
In addition to all that loss, we had to move out of our house at 34 weeks pregnant because of a mold issue—and couldn’t move back in until my daughter was 8 weeks old.
It has felt like one thing after another. 🥊
And the only reason I’m still standing is because I’ve learned how to take care of myself ON PURPOSE.
⚡️Fueling my body during stress
⚡️Using movement to close stress cycles
⚡️Getting outside for sunshine
⚡️Processing emotions with my husband
⚡️Leaning on my friends
⚡️Setting boundaries with work
It’s hard. It’s really freaking hard.
Some seasons are just like that. 💔
But taking care of yourself?
That’s the only option.
