🐾 Meet the Rescues: Hope Animal Rescue

Hope Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based rescue in North Carolina, dedicated to rescuing and re-homing the dogs who need it most while also helping community members keep the dogs they already have. They’re all-breed, all-age, with a special soft spot for medical-needs dogs, seniors, maternity dogs, and the ones too often passed over — bully breeds and chihuahuas especially.

That soft spot is exactly what saved Patch. 🐾

He came to a shelter at 9 months old, severely emaciated with skin issues so bad most of his hair had fallen out. Shelter staff nursed him back to health, and he found an adoptive home in January, only to be returned a month later, through no fault of his own. Going back to the shelter was hard on him, but the people who loved him fought for a second chance, and Hope Animal Rescue gave him one.

With time, patience, and a foster home that refused to give up, Patch has made a full recovery and is no longer the shut-down, emaciated dog he once was.

Hope receives no government funding, so every dollar comes from supporters like you, and since the organization is entirely volunteer-run, every donation goes straight to dogs like Patch.

Meet Dash 🪲💚 From the litter named after ’s “Dashboard” from The Great Divide album, we shortened his name to Dash, which is fitting because this little guy is always ready to dash off on his next adventure (or toward the nearest squeaky toy).

Dash and his siblings arrived at the shelter at just 2 weeks old, listed simply as “strays.” Because they were so young, we don’t know much about where they came from or exactly what breeds make up this adorable bunch. What we do know is that Dash has absolutely zero plans to let that define his story.

Dash is curious, confident, and has the kind of joyful puppy energy that makes every day a little more entertaining. He’s convinced the world exists solely for exploring, and he’s determined to inspect every stick, toy, blanket, and suspicious-looking leaf along the way. He’s never met a person he didn’t want to say hello to or a toy he didn’t think deserved a taste test.

He’s been living with older, bigger dogs in his foster home and has done a wonderful job respecting their boundaries while still keeping everyone entertained with his goofy puppy antics. He loves people, enjoys playing with his siblings, and is always up for whatever adventure comes next.

Much like the song he’s named after, Dash reminds us that life isn’t about having everything figured out—sometimes it’s about enjoying the ride, embracing the detours, and finding joy in the little moments along the way.

If you’re looking for a best friend who will happily join you for every adventure (and probably insist on carrying one of your socks there), Dash is ready to ride shotgun for life 🤩
