The Durham Bulls franchise originated in 1902 as the Durham Tobacconists, a minor league baseball team in the North Carolina State League. The team rebranded as the Durham Bulls in 1912, drawing their name and famous logo from the iconic Bull Durham smoking to***co brand produced locally by the W.T. Blackwell Company.
