The domestic terrorist organization that calls itself ICE just took another life in Houston.

Many of the low-effort commenters on posts don't understand the differences between "communism", "socialism", and "democratic socialism".
Here's a quick explanation of some of the basic concepts, which could be a start to a deeper exploration of the different types of economic/political systems.

Political labels are often used interchangeably, but they describe different ideas. Capitalism centers on private ownership and markets. Socialism emphasizes greater public or collective control of parts of the economy. Democratic socialism pursues stronger social programs through democratic elections, while communism envisions a classless, stateless society. Authoritarian systems can exist under different economic models, concentrating political power in the hands of a leader or ruling party. Understanding the differences leads to better conversations—not just louder debates.

Imagine calling yourself a “patriot” while marching masked through D.C. to spread fear and hate.

Today, on the 4th of July, hundreds of masked Patriot Front members moved through D.C. and marched toward Capitol Hill with a hateful, anti-immigrant message.

Patriotism is not hiding your face while spreading hate or targeting immigrants.

America has to decide what kind of country we are willing to defend.

The original No Kings day, 250 years ago.

America was founded on a set of ideas, some good and others evil. We stand up against the America founded on a promise of freedom extended only to a small sliver of men instead of to everyone, but we also fight for the good ideas, like being a nation of immigrants & having No more Kings. Happy 250th birthday to the good ideas that we must keep fighting for!
