PLW Construction
Most people know PLW Construction for custom homes, but that is only part of what we do.
We also handle water and sewer infrastructure projects, bringing the same equipment, experience, and problem-solving mindset to commercial and utility work.
Whether it is a custom home or critical infrastructure, the goal is the same: do quality work and do it the right way.
Thinking about adding a basement?
A basement can add a tremendous amount of usable square footage to a home, but it is important to understand that it is not just “extra space.” It is a significant investment.
Here is why 👇
🏗️ Foundation costs increase You are digging deeper, moving more dirt, and building larger foundation walls.
🔨 You are essentially building another level of the home Framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, drywall, flooring, and finishes all add up.
💰 Costs can easily exceed $100,000 Depending on the size, finish level, and site conditions, a basement can be one of the larger decisions in the budget.
🏡 The payoff can be worth it A well-designed basement can add living space, entertaining areas, storage, bedrooms, home gyms, media rooms, and long term value to the property.
The key is planning for it early and understanding the true cost before construction begins.
We will never get tired of these transformations.
Making our clients dreams come true one home at a time.
This project started with some of the thickest, most dense woods we have worked through in a while.
Because of Davidson County’s burn restrictions, we could not simply clear and burn the debris. Instead, we spent additional time mulching the trees and hauling material off site to prepare the lot properly.
A lot of work goes into a build before the foundation is ever poured, and this project is a great example of that.
What do you think of this trend?
One of the biggest questions people ask when starting a custom home build is, “Where do we even begin with the floorplan?”
At PLW Construction, there are a few different ways we can approach it depending on your goals, timeline, and budget.
📐 Bring your own floorplan If you already have a plan you love, Parker can review it, walk the property with you, and help assess realistic pricing and construction costs before moving forward.
🏡 Choose from plans we have already built PLW has several floorplans that have been built multiple times. That gives us a much clearer understanding of pricing, timeline, and how the home functions in real life.
🛠️ Customize what fits your lifestyle Even with an existing plan, changes can always be made. Expanding rooms, adjusting layouts, modifying exterior details, or tailoring spaces to better fit how your family lives.
💰 Better clarity from the beginning The earlier the floorplan and scope are defined, the easier it is to align selections, budget, and expectations throughout the build.
The goal is not just to pick a house plan. It is to create a home that fits your property, your lifestyle, and your long term goals.

The grade work on this project in Burns came together exactly how it should.
Clean transitions, a backyard that flows naturally into the pool area, and a layout that makes the entire space feel intentional from every angle.
One of the most overwhelming parts of building a custom home is the amount of decisions that have to be made.
Fixtures, finishes, layouts, materials, paint colors, lighting, flooring, trim details. It adds up quickly, especially if you are trying to make every decision on your own.
That is why Parker and the team at PLW Construction work closely with homeowners throughout the entire process to help simplify those decisions and keep the build moving forward.
Here are a few ways we help 👇
📸 Use photos and inspiration If there is a specific look, finish, or fixture you like, send it over. Photos help us understand your style and help source products that fit the overall vision and budget.
🪑 Dedicated selection meetings We sit down and walk through the home piece by piece, making decisions together so nothing gets overlooked or rushed.
📐 Guidance based on experience Not every trend works in every home. We help homeowners focus on selections that fit the layout, functionality, and long term feel of the build.
💰 Budget conscious recommendations We help prioritize where to spend and where to simplify so the home feels cohesive without unnecessary overspending.
🏡 Keeping the vision consistent One of the biggest challenges during a build is making sure everything flows together.
Our job is to help make sure the finished home feels intentional from room to room.
Building a custom home should feel exciting, not chaotic. Having a builder that helps guide those decisions makes a huge difference.
