Happy Friday the 13th and Happy Anniversary to us! We got married on Friday the 13th, so today seems one of those super fun days that good things happen. People thought we were crazy to choose this day, but now we’re just superstitious that these Fridays bring the best life has to offer.

Things I’ve learned from 17 years of marriage:
- You have to always prioritize each other, or else…one day… you won’t.
- Communication is the best thing Brian taught me. It’s the key to our marriage.
- A spouse who makes fun of your snoring….guess what…the day will come when they snore too.
- Old habits die hard and the upbringings run strong. I keep telling him Cincinnati chili will kill him and yet….he still eats it with joy. 🤢
- Even when you don’t have a ton in common, people can work so well together. We don’t have a ton of the same interests, but what we have in common are the foundational things that matter. This is why I outsource his boardgame playing to Tuesday nights with his friends.
- One parent needs to be reasonable when the other is not. Disruption of this balance is no bueno. Let chaos reign. 😬
- Staying up late is still fun, but the next day isn’t as exhilarating.

Even after 17 years he follows me around like not much time has passed. Grateful for all the years past and all the years ahead!
