When relying on free space, we’ve learned to be dynamic and flexible over the years! An updated flyer to address the changes in our meeting times the next two months. Had a great time at Harper Woods Library on Saturday! We had 4 new volunteers, with a total of 12 people fixing anything from clothing to calculators to lamps and vacuums. Unfortunately, we will not be able to meet at the Helen Moore these next two months, so we will see you at the Farmington Library and in June!

Local mending night!

Our final Mend It event happens this Thursday from 6:30-7:30pm inside the library. Drop ins welcome!

We have a very successful cafe at the Helen Moore Community Center today! We saw lamps, blenders, speakers, a hoverboard, a sewing machine, and many garments for mending! We are back at the community center the third Saturday of every month but our next cafe is on May 2 at the Harper Woods Public Library from 1-4pm. We hope to see you there!

Great event in Sterling Heights today! Around 20 repairs with 8 volunteers! Looking forward to our April events!

Our current upcoming meeting times!

First meeting of the year was very busy and a resounding success, with 13 volunteers in attendance. Had a lot of jewelry come through, as well as 3 sewing machines, a karaoke machine, salt & pepper shakers, and various clothing. We’ll see you all next on the 21st in Detroit!

2025 started rough, with our venue closing for renovations in January with a week’s notice. It is still closed and the owners no longer reply lol. So the first few months of the year we switched to just supporting the Detroit Public Library’s Cafe, and doing a few pop ups. We got connected with through and finally had a regular meeting space again! We have now, unfortunately, beautifully, outgrown Moondog’s space. We’re still finalizing our new location but we’re super excited for this move and the potential to continue to grow! Here’s to more repairs in 2026!
