Adapt My Ride
04/26/2019
Excited to share my latest project of adapting a GMC Yukon Denali Firetruck for my spunky, adorable friend, Drew! This cool firetruck has working LED headlights, overhead flashing lights with fire siren, working horn, speakerphone and mp3 player plugin with speakers. I made sure to share a little bit of the therapeutic reasoning behind each adaptation in order to make this car tailored to fit his individual needs and work toward his physical and occupational therapy goals. So excited to see him learn to drive his car and get to enjoy spending time outside this summer cruising around with the windows down ☀️🕶🚗
Finally got the kids Jeep finished and ready to go! Delivering it today, hope Jayse likes it!

Look at this big smile!! Finally got to give Tate his finished adapted car this weekend and he LOVED it! He jumped on right away and started signing go. Didn’t take him longer than 30 seconds to figure out how to make it go and start driving around GIGI’s Playhouse. Nothing makes me happier than seeing these kids smile and drive their car for the first time. Now, just for the weather to warm up so he can start riding it around the farm. ☀️🐄🚜🌽

Everybody meet Tate! He was the winner of one of the cars up for auction at GIGI’s Playhouse “I Have a Voice “ gala. He’s an adorable, adventurous and energetic four year old with Down Syndrome. He enjoys spending time looking at all the animals on his farm and playing with his sister. He is pretty high functioning so only needs a few adaptive switches installed, so should be a quick fix! He is very excited for his new ride! Stay tuned to see his completed adapted Yellow Dinoco car.
