Hi everyone! Haven’t done an intro post in a long time so thought I’d do one :)

I’m Marissa Hernandez- an artist (muralist, illustrator, etc.) based in Iowa. I’ve been working as an artist since 2020, after graduating from Drake University. I’ve done over 30 murals, mostly around Des Moines for small businesses and public schools, but have done a few larger exterior murals in Hampton, IA and Jefferson, IA.

When I’m not doing art related things- I love reading, sewing, knitting, listening to music, basketball, food, and matcha and coffee & spending time w my family and cats :)

I have a couple fun mural projects coming up, but also really want to make an effort to do more studio work and build out my non-mural portfolio in hopes I can travel/ do artist residencies which is my big goal 🫶💕

Finished this illustration I started like a year ago- part of my teddy bear album cover series but might have to rename the series to include non album cover music related illustrations 🤔
Trying to find ways to not spiral out about the state of the world even if it’s momentarily 😔🙏
