It’s been a LONG couple of nights, feel free to share any flooding or wind damage pics you have!

I woke up with a large tree branch in front of my house this morning. LOL

The Eldora tornado wall cloud from 4/17/26 had the looks, we thought it was going to put down a monster. Fortunately it only put down a weak un-condensed tornado.

This begs the question, in your personal opinion, what is the strongest tornado to ever touch the Earth?

The story all started when Storm Chaser Parker Hardy asked me to chase a singular day in South Dakota with him, I accepted around five days prior to the 28th. Weather models and hodographs looked good, but we had no idea what we were in store for. Our initial target of Canby, Minnesota would’ve put us right in position for both the Clear Lake and Gary tornados. Due to us being overly cautious of surface observations, we bounced north. After we ate some Mexican food we stopped and chatted with a couple chasers, one of which being Storm Angler Alex Bartholomew, was good meeting him!

We then hit the northern cell as we liked how quickly it grew and the consist rotational nature of it, it left us disappointed though. As we were about to leave the storm we heard chatter of an ongoing tornado near Clear Lake, so we headed that way. It dissipated before we got there but just as we were heading west on Highway 22, another tornado planted, this tornado would go on to become legendary.

As we crossed over a hill, we could see the stovepipe in full effect, the Dominator and Reed Timmer Extreme Meteorologist screamed up behind us as we let them around to catch that intercept. We then hit the perfect spot and captured footage that would be memorable for a lifetime.

This is where my passion for storms and tornadoes was reborn, this is where the journey all started.
