A Valentines Day spent exploring Red Rocks with this wonderful couple! It’s always incredible to capture joy in such a gorgeous place, and doing it with some fellow New England/DMV transplants made it even better.

A big ole congrats to María and David, so excited for you two and everything the future holds!

Hot take: I love when couples tell me what photo to take next. I love that moment 30 minutes into a session, when a partner starts a sentence with “What if we….”

And it’s not because I’m running out of ideas (I’m burstinggg with them), it’s because that’s one of the moments when I really feel like we’re creating something together and folks feel comfortable enough to just play.

This aquarium session was such a wonderful example of that, and I’m sooooo giddy that I got to capture goofy, playful relationship in such a unique place 🩵

This is my first Valentine’s Day since taking photography full time, and wowza it’s got me in the feels. From new spouses on their wedding days to couples prepping save the dates to parents taking a moment out of their family session to just be with each other, I’m so grateful to everyone who has trusted me to witness and capture the joy their partners bring to their lives.

Lately I’ve been thinking about how wedding photos let us remember the tiny moments we don’t always realize are happening.

Think about it: The first time you show your mom your wedding ring! The glee when you finally get to see inside your wedding cake!!

There are so many big moments on your wedding day that immediately etch themselves into your brain. Then there are the small (but no less important!) moments that get swept up in all the joy.
