The Splinter Project

I usually steer clear of rehabs, but took on this sound system zone rebuild/refinish project moving the shelf, adding divider, new insides and inner frame and also a single sliding door below for record storage. It’s for some dear friends and lives now in their beautiful and mostly original California modern home in Arvada.

The corner return wall needs matching paint yet, but check out how nicely this vintage teak room divider worked into this opened up floor plan! I cut the panel legs off the cabinet and built a toe kick area custom stained base from poplar to keep costs down and it matches perfectly! Long live Mid-century modern!
