Sadly, not doing much in the shop these days, but I did find some time to make this cute little activity table and chairs for my nephew!

Fun fact: melamine also works as a dry erase board!

Part 6 (and last part) of “What’s Jon Been up to?”

This magnetic knife block was very fun to make! Was supposed to be a wedding gift for my good friend (and groomswoman) , but it ended up being a nice 1st anniversary gift instead!

Every time I pick up a chisel I am reminded of when I bought this $30 set from lowes, spent 2 days flattening and sharpening them all by hand, and immediately destroying the project I was working on the first time I used them.

But I’d say this is pretty good work for an $8 chisel at 9am on a Sunday.

When I first started woodworking I always knew that chisels were important but it took a long time to figure out how and when to use them. Now I use them all the time and I think it might soon be time to invest in a good quality set.
