I'm so sick of the profit over people approach in public health
Last week the Supreme Court sided with Monsanto, the multibillion dollar biotech company (owned by Bayer) that produces agricultural pesticides such as Roundup. Organizations including the IARC and WHO have been warning for years about the links between this chemical and various forms of cancer.
In a 7-2 decision, the court ruled that Monsanto can't be held liable under state law for failing to warn people via clear labeling of products about the cancer risks tied to Roundup. This happened despite tens of thousands of lawsuits against the company and billions already paid out in damages and settlements, with another $7.25 billion class settlement currently on the table.
I'm not here to argue the legal mechanics. I'm here because of what this signals. When the burden keeps landing on the consumer to prove harm, instead of on the company to prove safety, we are all left to do our own homework.
Let's talk about what that means for your body:
Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, is one of the most widely used herbicides in the world. It shows up as residue on many conventional grains and produce items. And research has shown it
You can't control a courtroom. But you can control what you choose to put on your plate. Vote with your dollar.
Choose organic for produce items most likely to carry glyphosate residue, such as thin skinned produce and the EWG's "Dirty Dozen."
Wash what you bring home. I like to soak fruits and vegetables in baking soda before rinsing to help remove any pesticide residue.
Support the gut with healing foods such as bone broth, grass fed gelatin, and fermented foods that provide probiotics.
This isn't about spreading fear. It's about taking back control and advocating for your health.

Turning 40 came with a hormonal plot twist I wasn't anticipating...
Last year, my body decided 28-day cycles were boring. So it switched to every 21 days, because who doesn't love MORE periods?! Plus, my stress was through the roof, my ADHD symptoms were off the rails, and my brain felt like it had 47 tabs open (and half of them were buffering ๐ตโ๐ซ).
Instead of panicking (and trust me, I was on the verge), I followed what I teach my clients and got to work on the foundation. The unglamorous stuff that actually works.
โ I stabilized my blood sugar through regular, balanced meals and wore a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) to track my glucose levels.
โ I moved my body daily without beating it into the ground, because more punishing workouts were the last thing my stressed-out system needed.
โ I took stress reduction seriously, and worked on sleep quality, got back into regular therapy, and took more breaks.
It took months, but my cycles regulated. Turns out my body wasn't betraying me:
But I was still dealing with brain fog and heightened ADHD symptoms. So I started gathering more data. That way, I could see what was happening under the surface with hormones, instead of guessing.
I'm tracking my hormones with a Mira device, which measures LH, FSH, estrogen, and progesterone daily across a full cycle.
Next, I'm running another DUTCH test in my luteal phase to fill in the rest of the picture: adrenal function, cortisol, DHEA, testosterone, and estrogen pathways.
Because here's my whole philosophy in three words:
I could have white-knuckled my way through, blamed myself, and called it "just getting older." Instead I'm doing exactly what I'd do for a client: looking at the data, supporting the foundation, and letting my body tell me what it actually needs.
40 has been humbling. But it's a lot less scary when you can see what's actually happening under the hood.
