Not Wimping Out

How did Not Wimping Out come to be?

Everyone in this group met in the same acting class and from going to the same acting studio! All of us have been at the studio for different periods of time! We were taught the UCB form of improv by our acting coach who has studied it. We did this for several months before our first show. The book used during this section is called "The Upright Citizens Brigade Comedy Improvisational Manual" by Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh.

We got so lucky because a lovely woman from our studio set up a showcase and gave us the opportunity to perform our improv there! It went better than we pictured and made us so excited to start doing shows more consistently! We just fell in love with improv and the deep joy that comes from performing improv/being in this group. We immediately came up with plans for what our group would do moving forward and created these social media pages! Our whole group has grown very close and very excited about the future!

Right now our goals are to do a show every two weeks, to perform more in Colorado and look at other locations like New Mexico, to post consistently and grow our social media, to keep rehearsing consistently, to start writing and filming sketches, and to eventually make some money from the improv would be cool 😂!!!

Daniela Aguilera has an endless amount of depth in her acting!

“Hi! im Daniela Aguilera! Im a very creative person that’s why I went towards the performing and creative arts when I was in school. I love me some karaoke, especially if it’s Taylor Swift duh. For the whole year I’ve been at my acting studio, I’ve learned how to get out of my comfort zone and just have fun. Being comfortable with being uncomfortable as good ol Richard says(my acting teacher and friend). I’ve also met some of my favorite people there. Wink wink, our improv group. Improv has become an important part of my life as an actress, and it’s so fun because of my friends and classmates! I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’m artsy so stay tuned on a possible logo for our group ive been inspired to draw😉okay I’ll stop giving you my whole life story”

On May 21st, we did our first-ever improv show at The Bug Theatre!

Thank you so much, Phyllis Ramie, for organizing the showcase and screening! And thank you to Richard Muller for being an incredible teacher and encouraging us along the way! And, everyone who participated in the showcase, y'all were genuinely impressive, and we are so proud to know you! And good job to everyone who worked on Artie and Paul; we can't wait for more! And thank you to everyone who came; your support meant the world!
