Meet the iconic and talented for our first Denver artist spotlight πŸ”¦ πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Yoko, also known as Emi Veliz, has been producing since the beginning of 2017 and has cultivated an otherwordly sound after being vastly inspired by the electronic music culture in Colorado.

Although originally from Tacoma, Washington the esteemed q***r producer has sculpted her sound from the influences of the Colorado underground scene blending heavy bass with classical and Japanese sci-fi. Yoko has been absolutely killing the game and has played sets at local Denver venues such as , , , and many more.

The self-taught creative is now based in Denver but has played sets at festivals and venues all over the country recently wrapping up her first US tour. Yoko drives to sculpt untold stories through sound, drawing on her background in world history and creative writing.

We felt it was time to introduce the faces behind Ze Fuss and explain why we wanted to cultivate this vibrant community centered on love, music, creative passion, and q***r representation. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

My business partner and I have grown up with electronic music. When we were kids with no responsibilties we exchanged candy and screamed "PLUR". Then we went to college, tried new things, discovered ourselves, as we bobbed our heads to experimental bass. Now we are in our mid-20s and realized we do have obligations. Electronic music has grown with us this far, but how can we help it evolve this time instead of it evolving us? So Ze Fuss was born- a passion project starry-eyed and hopeful- that we believe will harness the power of a musical culture to help communities we love. -

The idea of Ze Fuss was born when my partner Taylor and I decided there was a need to bridge the gap between the q***r and bass communities. Both of these communities have impacted our lives more than we could have ever imagined. We want to create environments that feature and highlight aspects of the q***r community while also curating music lineups that consists of a variety of bass music. Observations we made that we would like to change though our new collective: for the most part gay clubs play only house and hyper pop, and most venues that host deep bass artists highlight the DJ and the DJ only. At a deep bass show, you will find people are way more uncomfortable moving their body to music outside of bobbing their head than poeple are at a gay club. That being said, we want Drag Queens, go-go dancers, and all creative performances that can be found at a gay club at deep bass shows! We want flow artists, vendors, painters, and VJs to get the recognition they deserve! And we want people to feel comfortable moving their body and dancing in any manner they want with out judgement or stares indicating that they are being "too extra"! We want to make bass q***r again.
We have poured our hearts into Ze Fuss but we couldn't do any it without you. -

We will be announcing the headliners for The Harvest this week πŸ”‰ make sure you buy a ticket before it sells out πŸŽƒ
