That canโ€™t be!! I never shared this!? Well, it was the time we as musicians showed the most of creative self, diversity, and resilience in special time like 2020

Day 22/31: Amy Wang-Hiller, violinist.

Before shutdown, Amy was teaching privately, performing with Shreveport Symphony Orchestra & collaborating with colleagues at UNT College of Music.

She'd already been working on her own mental health by training to become an NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) practitioner, so Amy immediately noticed the emotional toll quarantine was taking on everyone... but after a friend committed su***de ๐Ÿ’” she decided to utilize her NLP training to help others on a broader scale by launching her Thrive x Strive Musician Podcast.

"I believe healing is from within. Our thoughts create our reality, so we are also the ones who can change and heal it. I am still perfectly flawed and always will be, but I am loving this process of sharing my journey of recovery to give people hope and the feeling that they are not alone."

BIGGEST CHALLENGE?
"Making sure that I don't fall into my old pattern of thinking: comparing and competing. They are the worst enemy to our happiness and fulfillment."

๐Ÿ’• She hit the nail on the head there. Comparison, especially when we are starting out with something new, does not serve our growth. We are each on our own journeys. ๐Ÿ’•

And what a journey that has been for Amy!

She shares her powerful personal story of overcoming an eating disorder by rewiring her brain through meditation & heightened awareness. She also interviews leaders in the music community to initiate conversations about building a healthy body & mind.

"I believe all musicians have the special strength to heal our own trauma and bring our shadow self to the light."
