Back in the day.. on the Tennessee River was the Keller Memorial Bridge...
It was named for the state's first Highway Commissioner who served between 1911 and 1925, and who was half-brother of Helen Keller. It was the first bridge for automobiles, prior to that, folks had to use a ferry.
In the comments I was asked what year it was constructed and what year it was removed...
Answers:
Build finished in 1928
Removed: 1999

We've been through this before.. We can make it through it again.. The Spanish Flu and the 1918 influenza pandemic hit North Alabama and many died. But, many survived!
Wash your hands.. Stay home.. And of course pray.. Pray for our state, nation, and world to recover very soon from this desease.
2020..it's 2020.so I'm going to try to find as many 1920's memories from North Alabama as possible.. If you have anything.. Please share yours!
