ABOUT PROJECT BULOSAN
Inspired by scholar-activist, Carlos Bulosan, Project Bulosan (a partnership between the UC Davis Asian American Studies Department and Rise Up! Yolo County) seeks to democratize the field of Asian American Studies, and raise Social Justice consciousness through knowledge and play. Through various forms of media, and grassroots community engagement, we aim to make the scholarship of Asian American Studies more accessible for educational and community advocacy purposes.
Carlos Bulosan has emerged as a key figure in Asian American Studies since the establishment of the Ethnic Studies field. Bulosan was a writer and an activist, an engaged scholar. His life’s work represents the core principles of these collaborative and engaging projects.
